Our Learning Spaces

Tugulawa Early Education has a unique and special vibe. It is warm and homely – a place where you and your child will immediately feel at home.

We have 5 unique indoor learning spaces at Tugulawa, catering to different ages and stages in your child’s journey. At Tugulawa, we equally value both our indoor and outdoor spaces as essential learning environments.

Outside, our play environment is spacious and dynamic. Our playground was designed by renowned Australian expert, Prue Walsh to be one that will arouse children’s interest and sustained use through a time span of several years. It is a challenging space for children to enjoy with changes of level to be discovered during play, including being able to look out from the high point of the playground across to the adjoining neighbourhood.

Koalas

Our youngest learners have their own beautiful play spaces, both indoors and outdoors, designed to build confidence and explore within as their skills develop and flourish. Our nursery is also equipped with its own sleep room where we can support each child in their own individual routines.

Our daily fee is full inclusive of all meals, nappies, wipes and sunscreen. Fresh vegetable and fruit purees or mash are added to the menu for our Koala’s to ensure that each child’s individual food needs are catered to. Our daily fee also includes a diverse range of educational shows and visitors as well as local excursions throughout the year.

Tugulawa prides itself on its small groupings and consistency within our educators. Our Koala nursery has a maximum of 8 learners each day with 2 fully qualified and experienced educators, who are supported by an educational support team member.

Team Tugulawa has undertaken Circle of Security training, understanding the value of relationship based secure attachments. Our staffing roster also ensures that a member of our Koala team will be here on drop off and pick up.

This group is for children from approximately 6 months of age.

Platypus

The Platypus learning environment is designed to support children’s growing independence and to offer them challenge as they move into toddlerhood. Our qualified educators engage your child in small group experiences to support social interactions and emerging play skills. Outside, our Platypus children experience our large, multi-age play space full of both natural and built areas to discover.

Our daily fee is inclusive of all meals, nappies and pull ups (where applicable), wipes and sunscreen. It also includes a diverse range of educational shows and visitors as well as local excursions throughout the year.

Wombat's

Kindergarten is a year of wonder and awe, a year full of play-based learning opportunities that allow time for children to think, create, explore….and learn.  At Tugulawa, our kindergarten aged children are called the Wombats and they take pride of place in our upstairs learning environment.

Whilst the younger age groups are guided by the Early Years Learning Framework, the Kindergarten program is underpinned by the Queensland Kindergarten Curriculum Guidelines (QKLG).  Both are strongly and unapologetically play based, something that experts both in Australia and internationally agree is the best way for young children to learn and a marker of quality in early childhood education.

Our daily fee is fully inclusive of all meals and sunscreen. It also includes a diverse range of educational shows and visitors as well as local and wider Brisbane excursions throughout the year.

At Tugulawa, smaller groupings are our speciality and our Wombat group has a maximum of 19 learners.  The kindy children have an Early Childhood teacher (university qualified) who works in partnership with a fully qualified and experienced educator.
